Happy Halloween!

When I went to visit Northern VA last week, Jim admitted when I got back that he was afraid that I would have found myself so homesick for Fairfax that I wouldn’t return to Wirtz.

But jokes on me because I came back to a truly frightening sight.

Yes, he posed for this.

He got a chainsaw.

We have a lot of trees around the place, and it really does make sense to have a chainsaw to keep them tidy. But the joy he has with a power tool is a little frightening. Country boy.

I sure hope he has this much energy for leaf blowing in a week or two.

And as a bonus, here is a spooky story from the Roanoke Times today. I can’t wait to learn more about the folklore around here, because I bet there are all kinds of stories.
