The couple from whom we bought our house also sold us a boat. It’s not a big boat, and it’s a boat they bought — used — about ten years ago to see if they liked boating. We bought it because (a) it was inexpensive and (b) we would also like to see if we like boating.

Here in Virginia you need to obtain a boater education card before you take to the water, and you can do it through an online course. I have had this on my mind for months, but have been too busy to sit down and work through the online program. With the second day of total silence in the house, I poured some coffee and put my nose to the grindstone, and can proudly report that y’all can call me Captain now.
